Sisson Sustained Investigation Project #1
Marino Sustained Investigation #1 completed
Title - 1963: Stephen Marino
In this picture it is my grandpa's senior photo. Of course it was the 1960s and I wanted to show the bright hippie like colors to give that true feeling especially with them being flowers. The followers are supposed to a wallpaper vibe. However I want to disfigured them to show that not all places were totally hippie or colorful, especially because he grew up in Chicago. Another factor was that he was a boy and during those times gender roles were such a big factor and that we couldn't expresses himself as much as a woman could.
Materials: Gauche and Acrylic
Process: I started with my grandfathers senior pictures and then went into photoshop and edited some flowers into the picture. Instead of blending I colored blocked the grey scale.
Dimensions: 15" x 20"

Ava Passehl SI #1 Completed
Gigi's smile and energy are bright and vivacious despite obstacles. Soft orange, green, turquoise, and pink remind represent, so I included them in her portrait.
Materials: Nikon digital camera, Adobe Photoshop, projector, picture of neon lights
Process: I sat Gigi in a dark room, projected a picture of neon lights onto her face, took some pictures of her smiling, and edited them to achieve the desired colors in photoshop.
Dimensions: 8.5 by 11 inches (I might increase to 16 by 20 inches in the future depending on the print quality of the photos)
Bella Dayrit: Sustained Investigation #1
Here’s my overall finished sustained investigation. I feel like I learned and grew a lot during the process of making this through photoshop and abstract portraiture. I’d like to continue this theme of repetition and layers in my later pieces. My theme was all about the layers of identity and illustrating those through color and form which I think I did successfully. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions for the title of this piece since I think I want to submit it to scholastics. I also was wondering if you guys have any cool ideas about what other things come to your mind when you think of identity.
Gildea Sustained Investigation Piece #1
I am not sure which one I like better - the only difference is that I took out the "Warning" text on the top of the car in the first picture.

Gildea Choice Board 9
I am planning on maybe using this in my sustained investigation piece - I made this collage in photoshop and adjusted the color settings to make it more vibrant.
Sisson Choice Board #9 - Repetition
For this choice board I wanted to do something simple. This is just a doodle that uses patterns in different sections that I have been recreating recently.

For my choice boards, I want to start thinking of ideas for minor arcana cards since I'm not doing that for my SI. This one is the five of swords (and I'm just now realizing I forgot to put the swords).
The meaning of this card: The Five of Swords turns up when you have had a falling out, disagreement or conflict, and you are walking away with a sense of sadness and loss. You may be upset and resentful over the heated words you said and now wish you could take back.
