Title - 1963: Stephen Marino
In this picture it is my grandpa's senior photo. Of course it was the 1960s and I wanted to show the bright hippie like colors to give that true feeling especially with them being flowers. The followers are supposed to a wallpaper vibe. However I want to disfigured them to show that not all places were totally hippie or colorful, especially because he grew up in Chicago. Another factor was that he was a boy and during those times gender roles were such a big factor and that we couldn't expresses himself as much as a woman could.
Materials: Gauche and Acrylic
Process: I started with my grandfathers senior pictures and then went into photoshop and edited some flowers into the picture. Instead of blending I colored blocked the grey scale.
