• Identify the inquiry or questions that guided your sustained investigation (20 points)

The purpose of my Sustained Investigation is to recontextualize the meaning behind Tarot cards to relate them to situations that myself and others have experienced. I made the Major Arcana cards the focus of my Sustained Investigation and created real-life scenarios to guide the viewer towards the purpose of the card. I considered the original artwork on the cards and how a modern depiction would better represent them. This way, people can connect with the art on a deeper level.

Each one of my pieces takes a different approach to represent each card. I used a wide variety of color schemes and symbols to further evoke the intended emotions in the viewer. I decided to make most of my pieces in a simplistic, yet ambiguous way, which allows the viewer to associate each piece with their own experiences. All of my pieces were done digitally through Photoshop and utilize many digital features such as blend modes and line weight.
