Jocelyn Zavala-Garcia's Sustained Investigation #3

The first picture is my final sustained investigation and the second is a close up of the collage I made. In the close up you can see that there are descriptions of what immigrants have to go through when in the cages, and the reasons they had for immigrating, such as violence and poverty in their home country.

  1. This is poignant and beyond words beautiful. This piece should be on the front of the New York Times. The contrasting browns, turquoises, and burnt organizes draw your eyes around the piece and the reflection in the child's eyes gives such a life to his character. AMAZING!

  2. I really wanted to express how awestruck I am by this piece. The colors and the whole vibe of all the layering you did with the aluminum foil, wire, newspaper, and paint all really successfully combine and express your exact ideas. The whole piece is such an amazing example of synthesis and I feel as though everything in this piece is so deliberate and has a meaning to it, even down to the reflection in the eyes.

  3. This piece shows so much raw emotion! I am truly in shock. A person is not defined by there background nor should they be! The texture in the work really brings the piece alive. You should continue to use texture in your work!
