Bella Dayrit Peer Review

Currently I’ve really been trying to figure out how I’m going to put the faces and expressions  on paper. For the background, I’m planning on taking a more free flow approach and see what I’ll do the day I decide to paint it. My them is supposed to be identity and the layers of identity and I’ll be using color and form to express that. I’m unsure if I should have the space pop out outright or have them kinda end up being amorphous with the painting under it. I also am having difficulty of what position I should have the first face. For my reference pictures, I usually sketch out the composition and after this, I’ll be taking the photos and using photoshop to achieve them.

  1. I can tell this is going to be a cool image by the sketch you have currently. I think whatever you do for the background medium you should pick something entirely different for these - maybe have a watercolor background and pastel faces OR you can draw the faces with some marker and paint over them so the paint doesnt work on those lines... I'm not entirely sure how that would work but I think it would be interesting. I definitely think this captures the identity theme but if you want layers I would consider overlapping these in some way to show that they're all the same person

  2. Wow, I love this! I can see a pattern from this piece and your last sustained investigation piece through your use of colors which I think is really interesting and important. I love your use of brush strokes and the movement that is created by them. Especially, how some of the background overlaps with the faces.

  3. WOW Bella just WOW. I am coming here in the wrong order, but I am happy I did. The way to went from this to your final piece in your sustained investigation shows so much growth. You knew what you wanted to do here and really brought it to life in your final piece
