Meghan Dellose AP Exam Practice

Identify the inquiry or questions that guided your sustained investigation

My sustained investigation is based upon the subject of addiction. In a few of my pieces, I show the light at the end of the tunnel of addiction by portraying the person as wanting to get better. By using bright colors and collage, I have formed a positive outlook on addiction. The question that guided my sustained investigation ran along the lines of "how do I make addiction an easy subject to talk about" instead of showing the bad in it. Addiction is usually hard to talk about, so bringing the bright colors to show the person coming out of their struggles brings such ease when talking about addiction.

Describe how your sustained investigation shows evidence of practice, experimentation, and revision guided by your inquiry or questions

The evidence of practice, experimentation, and revision was clearly shown by using many techniques throughout all of my pieces. Every piece I have created is different, showing the many different solutions to breaking addiction. I experimented with many new methods like collage, charcoal, objects, and matte medium. This exploration has made me more confident in my work and also led me to make some revisions. I have had to go back and add that "finishing touch" to some of my pieces that make them look complete in my eyes.
