Jocelyn Zavala-Garcia Sustained Investigation #6

For this sustained investigation, I wanted to focus on the cycle immigrants have to live through. For many, their lives are a repetition every day. I interviewed my grandpa, and he told that when he first arrived, he was working from around 2 in the morning to midnight every day for a while. His longest shift consisted of a little over 24 hours in a laborous job.
I also wanted to express the idea that when many kids arrive at the new country, they have to hide their emotions because they know it is the best for their family, shown with the brown color on the face trying to cover up the black and white. I interviewed my mom and she said that when she first got her she wanted to leave because of the language barrier and how she felt lonely, but she did not want to show her pain to her parents because they went through a lot to get them in the position she was in.
