Choice Board 15 Marino

I honestly don't know what I was doing but I wanted to create a funky background. So I started just throwing yellow and blue on a canvas. Then I add white outlines across the canvas. I think it look interesting maybe I do something like this for my next portrait background?

  1. I love the colors you used Joe, they remind me of the colors of the Earth and I feel like I am looking at an abstract geographic map! I love this it is so cool.

  2. Joe, it is great to see you experimenting with layers, line and shape. Venturing into abstraction and disregarding a pre-conceived plan and allow the work to develop from process alone can be liberating. For me, this is a great example of a "fill the frame" abstract piece that could be "macro or micro"-something that feels either cropped way up close (like a microscopic image), or zoomed way out, such as the earth from above.

  3. Joe, this is really simple but it looks so professional! I really love the white line, it pulls everything together.

  4. Joe I love the colors that you used! The yellow and the blue kind of blend into a green- but only because the colors are next to each other which is SO COOL. It is a really awesome touch!

  6. I love this Joe. I'm so used to you organized work that I'm excited to see you dabble into abstract. Whichever figure if you choose to ass in will look great added in. I think it would be neat since you are moving into a new century if you were to add color into the figure

  7. Joe, I love the expression in the painting. The abstract in this piece would look great with one of your signature portraits.
