Part 1 - Sustained Investigation - Score: 2
a. Inquiry - 1
The question the student presented asked what is the significance of skulls. While all the works contain a skull or skeleton, their inquiry does not follow through with all the works. The student never got into their theme with their artwork.
b. Practice, Experimentation, and Revision - 2
The student did not do much experimentation, but more using normal techniques on a different surface. They experimented with their mixed media piece and the skeleton on the ground with a different point of view but the others did not seem to have much compositional thought.
c. Materials, Processes, and Ideas - 2
Throughout the entire investigation, there is no growth in use of materials. The student used many random materials for each artwork that did not seem planned out well.
d. Drawing Skills - 3
The student has drawing skills but the artwork does not express it consistently. Many of the artworks show advanced skill while others are not as successful in the use of the materials.
Part 2 - Selected Works - Score 5
The student uses materials well and in a way to ad to their compositions.They show advanced drawing and design skills throughout their works and attention to detail. The student made note of experimentation with composition and point of view in their pieces. They also took significant time to plan their work to create balance.
