I decided to do a watercolor for this choice board because I want to do a watercolor for my SI. I kind of copied an assignment from Mr. Newitts watercolor class last year with a fisherman but i added drips and tried to experiment with a wash background. The goal was to put newspaper print on top, but I went to the store and bought acetone and for some reason it wasn't working :( I remember Mrs. Silverman saying she knew a transfer process with print or something so I am planning to ask her about it tomorrow and start working on my SI. I am planning to do a collage portrait with newspaper and watercolor.
Aww, sorry your acetone plan didn't work :( But I love how this turned out with all of the drips and cloud-like shapes! Interesting color choice too!
ReplyDeleteWow! I really love how this turned out and think it was a great success. I love the diffused look of the watercolor but how it still has some structured shadows in there too. The colors really look like they're dancing on the paper.
ReplyDeleteI remember this was one of the first watercolor pieces I did with Mr. Newitt!! This turned out as a great spin to that assignment with the incorporation of the drips to creating an almost "melting" effect. Great job!
