Atkins Choice Board 14
For this choice board, I wanted to practice a specific technique before I replicated it on my actual sustained investigation piece. This is an underwater background that I created with wet on wet, wet on dry, and dry on dry techniques using guache. I think when doing this on my actual sustained investigation, I need to use larger variety of colors rather than blue (like maybe a yellow ochre or purple) and I have to use a smaller brush when painting the streaks of light coming through the water.

This looks so cool! You replicated the texture and movement of water really well, as well as the sources of light with the streaks. I think your idea of adding some new colors will add more dimension and more variety, I cant wait to see it! I also really like how you are practicing different techniques and analyzing how useful they were at the end because it helps with decisions for the final piece. Great job!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! You did a really good job with the light and making it come through the water. Even with just this blue it looks so good :)
ReplyDeleteIt is so awesome. I love how I can see the light shining through the water showing its day time and close to the surface of the water. I like your idea of adding yellows and purples to the piece. I think it will bring a lot to it, but you were able to get your technique down so well in this practice piece.
