For my letters A and B, I used watercolor to emulate prehistoric cave paintings and Egyptian art respectively. I wanted the colors to blend together well and have the letters stand out against a pale background. For C, I decided to use pastels to represent ancient greek art, using warm colors with a black background. This created a very bold contrast between the background and the letter. Finally, the letter D was created using gouache to really emphasize the bright, vibrant colors depicted through ancient Indian art. I noticed that throughout ancient Indian art, animals are a very prevalent subject which I wanted to represent through this very long-necked bird-like creature.
I love how the bird is the D... so creative. This is such good work.
ReplyDeleteThe use of watercolors for the stone texture on A is a really creative concept that works super well for this use case! I also really like the coloring on the C, very accurate to the schemes of plates and pottery of that era.
